Success in the classroom is just as important as having success on the field. A teams ability to achieve an overall goal on the field can be positively AND negatively impacted by the success that team has in the classroom. As a program, we want to promote academics, and provide as much support as needed to help our young men and women transition into becoming life long learners.
We are extremely fortunate to have two academic coordinators! Along with contractual teaching duties, Mrs. Whitney Moore and Mrs. Teresa Gooch are members of our football staff, in the capacity of Academic Coordinators. Our academic have a major impact on helping maintaining our program class room expectations.
Mrs. Moore has serves as our building AVID Coordinator and Mrs. Gooch is one our lead AVID teachers. Mrs. Moore and Mrs. Gooch have an abundant amount of knowledge and resources available to help keep our athletes competing in the classroom at a high level. Not only do these ladies help athletes stay on top of assignments and exams, they also helps student advocate for the educational needs while challenging students to push themselves to their academic limits. The AVID strategies that Mrs. Moore and Mrs. Gooch uses with our athletes are proven to yield success preparing students for both high school, and upwards into college.
